Why I do not support "Earth Day."
Other than the obvious answer, "'cause it's silly," my reasons are as follows.
1. Because the philosophy inherent to earth day is in error.
1a. Because God commanded men to have dominion* over the earth, not "preserve" it.
--*Gen. 1:28
"subdue": kaw-bash' A primitive root; to tread down; hence negatively to disregard; positively to conquer, subjugate, violate: - bring into bondage, force, keep under, subdue, bring into subjection.
"dominion": raw-daw' A primitive root; to tread down, that is, subjugate; specifically to crumble off: - (come to, make to) have dominion, prevail against, reign, (bear, make to) rule, (-r, over), take.)
2. Because the Earth was made specifically for man, Ps. 115:16; though God owns it and the people on it.
4. Because mankind cannot control the earth, ie: environment, only God does. (Ps. 65:9.)
Do not mistake my meaning. Christians are to be good stewards. Earth day, by going beyond that, becomes silliness at best and heresy at the worst. You can read how Earth day goes beyond it here.
UPDATE:
Here's another great post about earth day.

Just one more proof to reprove "Global Warming" zealotry.
"Global warming 55 million years ago suggests a high climate sensitivity to carbon dioxide, according to research led by Mark Pagani, associate professor of geology and geophysics at Yale and published in the December 8 issue of Science."
(Emphasis Mine, Source.)
Why don't you believe in "global warming?" you ask. Here's why. What cannot have happened 55 million years ago, cannot suggest anything.
Oh, I believe in factual global warming. I'm dang certain the earth is gonna get hotter. Nearly hot as hell. And soon.
It just ain't gonna happen how or why everybody thinks it is.
*HT to True Anomaly for making me remember.
UPDATE:
LOL! Apparently I must still believe the earth is flat. I am part of a "tiny, tiny minority." It's irrelevant, I suppose, that a minority like this hasn't existed since about 3 B.C.**
**My apologies to readers outside of Tennessee; if any. We are not all as confused as our former Vice President.

A few changes; Or, "Going green."
A few changes and updates.
The changes should be apparent.
The primary update is a list of books for 2008.

Co-op America's National "Green Pages."
Found the National Green Pages site here.
Money quote?
"The nation's only directory of screened and approved green businesses."
(Top of browser)
But one certainly wonders: Who screens the screeners? Who approves the approvers?
