A Tribute to Alice, of 10,000 Monkeys and a Camera.

Whatever else may be said about Alice, this much is true. When I wrote a post which could have been construed to mean that I, or someone I know, might have been sick; Alice, acting quite Christ-like in her concern for me, responded with kindness.

I attempted two or three times to write a tribute to Alice. Each time I failed miserably. As a result, I shall simply post my original letter to her, adding this comment only.

The genuine concern Alice showed for me, was indeed Christ-like. For that kindness, these few, insignificant words of mine are indeed inadequate to express the honor that is due.

"Alice,

I just wanted to thank you for the kind words you wrote on my blog. I realized after your comment was posted that what I had written might possibly be construed to imply that I, or someone in my family, was experiencing problems with cancer. To my knowledge this is not so.

But your graciousness in saying what you did--and this, even though we seldom agree on many topics--was a beautiful illustration of how one would act; that is, how one would act if one were a Christian. It has inspired me so very much that I intend to make it the topic of a post. (To which statement I must append the following thoughts. First, it may seem but a slight honor to be the inspiration for a post. In reality, I mean it as an honor and tribute to you for your kindness. Second, when I say that it has inspired me, I assure you, I am not speaking rhetorically.)

Anyhow, the purpose of this correspondence was to convey my gratitude. This done, I now retire.

With Sincerity,
I bid you
Adieu.

Carl"
