California, Blindness, and God's wrath.
What is happening here is shameful for America, shameful to God, and--though they do not know it--shameful for those who participate.
In this case, however, it is a symptom and not a cause of God's wrath.
May God also forgive me for my sins against His Holiness. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Governor Eliot Spitzer.
Insightful commentary on the current tragedy in the life of Governor Spitzer:
"The encounter lasted only a short time, but could forever change Gov. Spitzer's political career."
(Found here.)
Kinda reminds me of the perfectly practical nature of the Bible.
"But a man who commits adultery doesn't have any sense. He is just destroying himself. He will be dishonored and beaten up; he will be permanently disgraced. "
Proverbs 6:32, 33. (GNB)
"A prostitute is a dangerous trap; a promiscuous woman is as dangerous as falling into a narrow well.

To Serve and Protect? Hillsborough County, Tampa.
This story is appalling.
"On January 29, 2008, at approximately 9:32 a.m., within the Orient Road Jail located at 1201 North Orient Road in Tampa, Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, knowingly, willingly and intentionally, with force, committed the act of elevating a wheelchair from the rear, occupied by the disabled victim causing the victim to fall to the floor, face first."
(Source= Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.)
You Tube has video footage here.
Disgusting.

What is a "dirty homophobic schoolchild?" I guess my kids are.
At least, according to these people they are. But I prefer to think of them just as I think of homosexuals: they are made in the image of God. I prefer to think of my kids just as God thinks of all people; homosexual or otherwise, viz., "male and female." In short, I prefer to think of them just as God in his love-letter to humanity chooses to think of them: sinners in need of a Saviour.
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
(Romans 5:8.)
But "dirty" or "homo-phobic?" Nope. That ain't them, and it ain't me either. I certainly hope I've taught them the scriptures better than that.

Kathy Griffin just don't get it.
It probably seems strange to some that Kathy Griffin has blaspemed. To others, it merely confirms what many already know: most people in Hollywood are Bacchanalians. Indeed, who but a riotous and boisterous person would dare tell an alleged God to "suck it"? But such paltry pomposity, in reality, is perfectly suited to sinners. And moreover, there is one point that might be overlooked.
Kathy Griffin is not the only sinner. For though many Christians might pretend it is so, being a Christian myself, I can assure you it is not. I, too, am a sinner. I, too, have blasphemed. And as I pondered the vulgar words of this red-headed hussy, I chanced upon the words of Marcus Aurelius.
"Do not act as if thou wert going to live ten thousand years. Death hangs over thee."
Marcus Aurelius, Thoughts, Book IV.
If this is true--and at this point in my life it seems quite plausible--I need not worry about what Kathy Griffin has said. I had better concern myself with how I live. After all, the scriptures I love more dearly than life had already declared the sentiments of Mr. Aurelius: "It is appointed unto man once to die..." And for that matter, empiricism declares the same. But what empirical knowledge cannot declare is what Mr. Aurelius cannot aver. And what Kathy Griffin has denied, is what I have known and, sadly, what I sometimes ignore. For while it is true that we have but one appointment with death, yet something remains:
"...but after this the judgment."
The question is, by whom shall we be judged?

Poetry.
I must be one of those who cannot see,
With blinded eyes and ears that will not hear.
For when I'm tempted into willful sin,
My wicked heart rejoices and jumps in.

Oops, sorry. Just one more about Abortion.
Isn't this just sick? Perversely ironic, if you prefer.

47,282,923 redux, deux.
"Why am I pro-choice? It's a simple thing." I simply disagree that having sex causes babies; or that having sex is a choice for that matter. "I would like to see the number of abortions performed in this country decrease", but I know this utopia of mine is impossible until we call abortion what it really is: murder; but hey, that's just me. Some goobs think that the "(proven) best way to do that is with education, birth control, and supporting every citizen with access to health care. Other people are weighing in, here, here, and in a gagillion other places. Check it out and give it some thought...real, investigave thought." Actual Quote

47,282,923 redux.
...couldn't of said it any better:
"It's wrong to take a life. It's sin. (That's the bad part.) But Jesus gave his life up willingly to make way for forgiveness for those of us who have taken lives. (That's the good part!)"

2 Homeless men killed in St. Petersburg; tent-city destroyed.
I have seen poverty. Not merely the word poverty; the tangible expression of the idea. I once lived in a country where people who are poor are obliged to live side-by-side with filth; and dirt poor people lived off garbage. To be clear, I am NOT exaggerating. And I write all of that to say this. My heart goes out to people who are berift of food, clothes and ordinary means of subsistence.
That said, I heard a story on the news tonight wherein the "tent-city" of some homeless people was ripped up by the police. The reason: "the auspices of course here was a fire threat that these tents, because people were smoking and possible cooking in them, could catch fire and harm people..." (The actual story I saw was at 5:30 and that reporter seemed to imply that this shredding of tents occurred because "there had recently been a shooting." The St. Pete's Mayor, according to the article here quoted, seemed to authorize this.)
I'm not saying that we should kill the Christians and give their homes to the homeless; that'd be something I'd expect these guys to say. I just fail to see how homeless people are any "safer" for having what little homes they did have, destroyed. That's all.
